"Encouraging young children to sing and make music rather than just listening to a CD is a highly valuable step in their development."
Howard Goodall "Sing Up" 2008
Opera Sulis provides innovative music education workshops for all ages.
We can supply a team of professionally trained, CRB approved singers and musicians to provide fun-filled, cross-curricular workshops to suit any age.
Each session is designed to complement the curriculum already being taught by class teachers and group leaders, bringing opera, world music, group singing and part singing to the classroom.
We can also tailor all workshops to your specific needs. Use of tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments is normal and we work with the equipment available at each venue.
Looking for a topic-based activity?
Are you a classroom teacher who is looking to start a class project on a particular theme?
A workshop designed by Opera Sulis can be a fun way of bringing the topic to life, using singing to deliver topic-based curricular work.
Topics include - Celebrations,
The Environment, Food, Ourselves and others, Romans, Transport, French and other foreign language songs.
Soprano, Susan Coates conducts The Stonar Singers as Tenor,
Carlos Alonso sings Panis Angelicus. Dec. 2009
A singing workshop is something everyone can take part in - teachers and pupils of all ages and abilities. Performing together can encourage pupils who may not step forward in other classroom situations and aid memory of facts related to the project in hand. It can also help to raise self esteem and build confidence as well as adding fun to normal classroom activities.
